- Have a clear understanding of the effective teaching of reading, writing, phonics, grammar and mathematics
- Have a clear understanding of how children learn
- Be an inspirational and outstanding classroom practitioner
- Have a sound knowledge of phonics
- Have a proven record of impacting on standards across the curriculum
- Aspire to continuous professional development
- Be competent in using data to inform planning and teaching practice
- Support and promote our church school aims, values and ethos
- Demonstrate a positive ‘can do’ approach
- Be versatile and resilient
