Full Time Year 4 Class Teacher (part time considered) - Maternity Cover job summary

Do you like working in a team and believe teachers can change lives? Would you like the opportunity to use your strengths to make a difference and have opportunities to grow yourself?

At Holy Trinity C of E Primary School we value the contribution of enthusiastic and committed teachers. We are a large primary school and are currently looking for a Year 4 class teacher to start in January 2022 to cover a maternity. This post would not really suit an NQT. We would consider a job share for this role. Holy Trinity already has several very successful job share partnerships and we appreciate there are good teachers who love teaching but don’t want full-time responsibility.

Our school is an excellent training establishment with everything necessary for teachers to develop their professional skills. We offer everything necessary for teachers to develop their professional skills with an excellent induction policy and effective appraisal system. Staff form a supportive and friendly team and have consistent, high expectations of children. Ofsted Nov 2016 recognised Holy Trinity staff as…“a united team who work enthusiastically and always in the best interest of the pupils in their care.”

Standards of achievement are high, our children are well-behaved, parents are supportive and staff enjoy working at Holy Trinity, with its nurturing and happy Christian ethos. We believe it is an ideal environment for a teaching career.

Ofsted 2016 inspection judged us as a good school, but we really recommend interested candidates read the report to find out why. Our diocesan inspection judged us outstanding recognising the investment that we put into the whole child as well as staff and community.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.

Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
satisfactory references
suitability to work with children

You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Our last Ofsted inspection (Nov 2016) confirms that we are “a good school, with outstanding features”.

The LEA commended the school for its forward thinking and ability to successfully manage new educational initiatives. Teaching is both rewarding and hard work but we are committed to working towards an effective work / life balance for our staff and it is one of our key School Development Plan targets for 2015-17. The school is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. West End is part of the borough of Surrey Heath boasting easy access to heathland, Basingstoke canal, acres of Crown Estate for walks and cycling as well as Military Land to explore.

It has excellent transport links from London Waterloo to Woking and to local stations such as: Bagshot, Brookwood, Sunningdale and Camberley. The village of West End is 5 minutes’ drive from junction 3 of the M3 and has an efficient bus service too. Surrey Heath has excellent leisure facilities and an abundance of open space and parkland. The Atrium development in Camberley with its nine screen cinema and bowling complex, makes Surrey Heath a great place to stay healthy and have fun.
