The Gateway Primary Free School is part of the Gateway Learning Community [GLC] which is a partnership of one secondary academy and four primary academies located within Tilbury and Chadwell St Mary in the borough of Thurrock, to the east of London. As an Inclusion Advocate, you will work at the heart of our school to identify and address the individual needs of our students. You will act as a bridge between teaching staff, parents, and pupils, providing the practical and emotional support necessary for students to hit their academic targets and develop lifelong independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Targeted Support: Deliver learning activities to small groups and individuals, adjusting tasks to meet specific learning outcomes.
- Collaborative Planning: Work with teachers to support curriculum plans and assist in developing Pastoral Support Plans and behaviour objectives.
- Mentorship: Maintain daily contact with assigned pupils to encourage positive attitudes, social skills, and self-reliance.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Use assessment data to track pupil progress and provide high-quality, objective feedback to parents and staff.
- Partnership: Engage effectively with families and external practitioners to deliver holistic support for children
We are looking for a candidate who possesses:
- Experience: Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
- Qualifications: GCSEs/O-Levels and a relevant Level 2 qualification (Level 3 is desirable).
- Skills: A clear understanding of how to provide outstanding learning support, manage behaviour effectively, and use ICT creatively.
- Knowledge: A thorough understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation.
- Qualities: High-level communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others
