General Kitchen Assistant job summary

Beechwood is a thriving 4 form entry multi-cultural school in Luton which is a welcoming community with pupils who have positive attitudes towards their learning and staff who are part of a well-trained and motivated team.

We require a General Kitchen Assistant to work across two kitchens in our large busy school.

Your role will involve:

• Serving pupils and staff of the school
• Setting out and clearing away tables and chairs in the dining hall before and after each service
• Cleaning duties within the kitchen/dining area
• Health & Safety compliance and food hygiene standards including an awareness of basic food hygiene
• Maintain and promote relationships within the school
• Excellent communication skills
• Working as part of a team
• You will need to be well presented
• Previous catering experience is desirable
• A uniform will be provided and we offer full training

Applicants need to be adaptable, physically fit and able to show initiative.

This is a rewarding role which requires excellent interpersonal skills, versatility and flexibility, where you can make a difference to young children and the school community.
