General Kitchen Assistant job summary

Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT) opened our newly built, state-of-the-art facility - Rivertree Free School, in February 2025. This school will join the others in our trust providing education to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.

Our Academies, supported by the Trust, provide an environment which is welcoming, nurturing, calm, safe and purposeful. BILTT’s vision is to continue to develop a high performing SEND Multi Academy Trust that delivers the very best educational experiences for pupils regardless of their starting points.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive General Kitchen Assistant to support the smooth operation of the school's catering services. The General Kitchen Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the kitchen. This role includes assisting the Kitchen Manager, preparing and serving food, preparing the dining area and cleaning the kitchen areas whilst ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

The successful applicant will have previous experience in a similar role, excellent organisational skills, the ability to work independently, and the capability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. You will need to be flexible in approach and be willing to participate in whole school activities - open days and community events for example.

If you feel you have the experience and personal qualities we are looking for and would like to be part of helping us to set up and run our new school, please apply via mynewterm.

We reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.
