Our School

Here at Dacre Braithwaite CE VA Primary School we offer a vibrant and inspirational curriculum in an idyllic setting in the heart of Nidderdale. We work relentlessly to ensure that every child in our school receives the best education and the best support to meet the SEMH and SEND needs.

Our vision is very much about Living Life to the Full by developing the skills that are essential to our children becoming upstanding members of the community and trying their best in whatever they are doing. We believe that when you develop the personal characteristics for learning first, children have the confidence to shine.

Working with children is the best job in the world and as a school we encourage all staff to engage fully in the education of our young folk, in a wide variety of ways. 2021-22 is a hugely exciting time for our school as we develop the curriculum further with staff training and resources at the heart of our journey; our children only have one chance at their primary education and in challenging times for education, we must let our passion guide us as we strive to ensure it is inspiring and engaging for every single pupil.

Our Opportunity

We are expanding our team due to an increase in pupil numbers. We believe that a good Teaching Assistant can help develop the learning characteristics for a child’s whole school career. We are looking to appoint an inspirational Teaching Assistant, dedicated to embedding curriculum knowledge in practical and exciting ways that challenge and engage all learners in a Key Stage One environment. With tailored support from your new colleagues and leaders, we will further develop you and give you the skills, encouragement and experience within the profession to excel as a Teaching Assistant within our unique setting. All we ask in return is commitment, a love of learning, initiative and pride in your work as you create those remarkable ‘lightbulb’ moments for our children.

We are looking for:

A skilled professional who has an engaging and dynamic style of leading interventions;
A Teaching Assistant with an understanding of SEND and SEMH and the complex needs that make up any cohort of children;
Someone who has the drive and ambition to make sure our children achieve their very best, promoting excellence within the class and Key Stage and sharing expertise across the school;
A character who has the drive to lead change to ensure that all children succeed;
A Teaching Assistant with a flair for primary education who will embrace the challenges of supporting children in a mixed age class;
A positive character who has initiative and is self-motivated, willing to embrace change.
A Teaching Assistant who will notice the children and intervene accordingly, offering ideas and suggestions.

We can offer you:

A warm, happy school where we value each individual child and the whole school community;
Happy, enthusiastic and well-behaved children, eager to learn;
A school offering the opportunity to work with like-minded colleagues;
An opportunity for you to thrive as you continue your journey as a professional, accessing high quality support, training and resources our school leaders have to offer.

You are welcome to phone school and arrange to visit at the end of the school day. Please use the school website to gather information. Our website has a wealth of information on it and allows you to get a ‘feel’ for our school.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response of candidates who meet the requirements OR should the recommendations from the Government or Department for Education regarding schools’ changes.

All candidates are advised to submit their application ahead of the deadline. Candidates must ensure that they refer to the job description and person specification before making an application so that their application meets the criteria.

Advertisement open date: 25th January 2022.

The Vision of Dacre Braithwaite Church of England Primary School can be summed up in 8 words – ‘That they may have life to the full’.

In school, we completely embrace this idea that whatever we are doing, however we are learning, we aim to do it to the best of our abilities, and we stress that everyone is good at something. We actively encourage the children to think about their actions and how they are 'living life to the full' in their everyday lives.

This is our aspiration, inspired by the words of Jesus and the Christian faith, for all who come into contact with our school – the children, their families, our staff and our local community.

Founded in 1778 by a local landowner to provide for the religious education of local farm children, Dacre Braithwaite School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided School for children aged between 4 and 11 years.

The school building is uniquely located in beautiful moorland surroundings, four miles from Pateley Bridge, and it is housed in the original two hundred-year-old building, refurbished, remodelled and extended to meet the needs of all our pupils. Well-equipped play areas, a large field, a woodland and wildlife garden, together with a play cabin, are all enclosed within the school grounds.
