What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide additional support in our Key Stage 2 Class. You will collaborate with the Class Teacher to assist in learning activities as well as providing support to individual and small groups of pupils.
Working in this one class will allow you to develop an understanding of how each pupil best responds to encouragement and guidance, allowing you to see what a big difference your work can do. This is a wonderful opportunity to help pupils flourish in their learning development.
You will be required to be flexible in your approach, looking to continually seek improvements, in order to enhance everything we do.
You will:
- Have previous experience in this type of role.
- Be supportive, nurturing, patient and understanding.

What the school offers its staff
Situated at the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors and approximately 3 miles from the coastal town of Filey and is set in extensive grounds comprising two playgrounds surrounded by large playing/sports fields. The modern buildings are light, spacious and in good repair.
In November 2018 the school was inspected and judged to be a ‘good school’ by Ofsted. A copy of the report can be obtained from the website www.ofsted.gov.uk
The school consists of 9 well-resourced classrooms; including our 2 Year Old Provision and Early years/Foundation stage unit, a library/resource area and 3 learning support rooms, (one including a curriculum cookery area). There are various cloakrooms and reading areas, a large hall, kitchen, staffroom and 3 administrative offices. There are currently 233 pupils on roll age 2 to 11 years.

We are located towards the centre of the large village of Hunmanby, 3 miles from the North Sea and the town of Filey. We are proud of our school site which has spacious grounds with a large playing field and wildlife pond area. We have a range of other outdoor facilities including an allotment garden with fruit cage and heritage orchard, large polytunnel, river of wild flowers, shelter and willow dome and a range of themed flower beds. We even have chickens! Our broad and creative curriculum fosters collaboration as well as individual responsibility for our school and our community.
