General Teaching Assistant SEN/Midday Supervisory Assistant job summary
GTA SEN (General Teaching Assistant with SEN Allowance) / MSA (Midday Supervisory Assistant)
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant with SEN Allowance/Midday Supervisor to work within our team. The role of GTA SEN will be to support a child in our Reception class who has specific medical and learning needs. You will be working alongside the child under the direction of the teacher to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum at an accessible level. You will be given all suitable and relevant training in order to support the child’s medical needs before commencing the role.
As an MSA, you will be required to work alongside members of the staff team to secure a caring and safe environment for pupils during the midday break, with a specific focus on supporting the same child.
The successful candidate will have:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to build effective and professional relationships with a range of staff, children, young people, their families and carers
• Strong reading, writing and numeracy skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to plan and prioritise tasks
• The ability to work successfully in a team
• The ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism and demonstrate flexibility when necessary
• A passion for life-long learning and a firm commitment to continued professional development
• Drive, passion and a sense of humour
