General Teaching Assistant with SEN Allowance (Fixed Term Part Time) job summary
Fixed 2 term (Spring and Summer 2025) with possibility to extend into 2627 Academic Year, Term time only
Hours - Part time, up to 20 hours per week. We warmly welcome visits to school and/or informal discussions with Mr Symonds or Mrs Crisell
Working Days: Wednesday to Friday.
Typical daily pattern - 8:50-15:20 with 1 hour lunch duty twice a week and half hour lunch.
Closing Date - Sunday 14th December 2025
Grade C, SCP 2-6: £12.65 - £13.47 per hour depending on experience plus SEND Allowance.

Job Purpose:
- To support pupils in learning as effectively as possible both in group and individual situations.
- To support the class teacher in the delivery of the Numeracy and Literacy.
- To support the class teacher in the delivery of other areas of the curriculum as appropriate giving educational support as directed.
- To work with the class teacher on the preparation of lessons and materials as appropriate.
- To work with the class teacher to develop and implement a system of monitoring and recording progress.
- Assistance with pupil assessment and reporting procedures
- To provide regular feedback to the teacher about pupils.
- Providing emotional support to help better functioning in class and access to the curriculum.
- To attend staff meetings, team meetings and staff development training where appropriate.
- To be aware of and adhere to school procedures.
- To contribute to the health and well-being of pupils.
- To contribute to the planning and maintenance of appropriate standards of behaviour in school.
- To be aware of confidential issues related to home/pupil/teacher/school and work and to keep confidences appropriately.
- Having contact with parents, and with education and similar professionals
- To design, prepare and maintain displays and specific learning resources under the direction of the teacher.
- To contribute to the planning and maintenance of appropriate standards of behaviour in school
- To support an effective teamwork process.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
