Governance Officer job summary

We are seeking an experienced governance professional to be an integral player in designing and implementing our new and innovative approach to local governance as we move towards the establishment of Tapestry Learning Partnership following the merger of our two trusts. We will be a trust of 15 schools, both primary and secondary, all closely connected geographically across Nottingham and Derbyshire.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a good understanding of trust governance, particularly at local level and be aware of the changing landscape in terms of representation at this level. We will be entering a significant period of change and excellent technical knowledge as well as outstanding communication skills will be required to navigate this successfully with all our stakeholders.

Initially, the postholder will provide clerking support to our existing local governing bodies as well as supporting the Head of Governance with compliance matters, including website audits and policy management. As we develop and implement a new structure the postholder will need to demonstrate flexibility as we adapt to new methods of local representation.

If you would like to be part of this exciting new chapter we would love to receive your application.

  • Recognise and demonstrate the importance of working hard, showing resilience and paying close attention to detail to ensure every child achieves their best.
  • Strive for excellence by demonstrating a commitment to innovation, engaging in CPD and constantly striving to improve provision and outcomes for pupils.

What we can offer you:

  • Company paid Healthcare which offers cashback towards dental treatments, opticians, wellbeing therapies, private virtual GP and much more
  • Perks for discounts on shopping, leisure and travel
  • Travel to work schemes
