Governance Professional job summary
We are looking to appoint an exceptional Governance Professional to provide clerking services to the Governing Body.
Beechcroft Infants' School will shortly be joining The Blue Kite Academy Trust.
Are you an excellent administrator, well organised, pro-active and with an eye for detail?
Could you organise meetings, draft agendas and produce detailed, accurate minutes?
Given training and support, could you be pro-active in helping the Chair of Governors to ensure that the annual cycle of governance is carried out efficiently and effectively, and advise the Governing Body on procedural and constitutional matters.

The role involves:
- supporting the preparation of agendas
- minute taking
- following up on actions from meetings
- distributing agendas, minutes and reports via Governor Hub (an online platform that supports governing bodies)
- updating statutory information
- providing procedural and legislative advice to the governing bodies
The successful candidate will:
- have excellent communication and organisational skills
- have strong IT skills
- be capable of working independently and confidentially
- form effective working relationships with the Chair of Governors, the governing body and the school leadership team
- be able to organise your own time and work to deadlines.
- be discrete and able to deal with highly confidential matters information.
- be available to take minutes at all six meetings throughout the year Meetings will normally take place at 7pm on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening and last for approximately two hours
Knowledge of governing body procedures and previous experience in a similar role is desirable, however, training is available.
The job role will be on a flexible basis, term time only. Attendance at Governing Body meetings will be required, however administrative working time outside of this would be home based at times of your choosing.
