If you want to work in a village setting with wonderful children, supportive leadership and tailored professional learning opportunities, then we want to hear from you!

We are seeking an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our passionate and nurturing team. We want a teaching assistant to work alongside our experienced staff team to provide pastoral and academic support. We have a strong commitment to nurturing approaches and are looking for a teaching assistant who will embrace this ethos.

This more than just a job. You will be required to be flexible in your approach, embrace the uniqueness of our small village school and look to continually seek improvements, in order to enhance everything we do for the children, our community and ourselves. In return, you will be fully supported, given space to grow, and be recognised as an individual within an amazing team. We are looking for someone who is positive, forward thinking and eager to be part of Team Castleton.

Context of the school

Castleton School currently has 53 pupils on roll across two classes: Acorns (EYFS/KS1) and Oaks (KS2). Our children love the great outdoors and our rural location provides lots of opportunities for adventurous activities. All our pupils have regular outdoor learning sessions, in our extensive school grounds or within the local area. We would love our new teaching assistant to share our passion for outdoor learning and be fully involved in the life of the school.

We are looking for someone who can continue to nurture relationships with pupils, parents, governors and staff and who takes real pride in being part of our school community.

Castleton and Glaisdale schools share one headteacher, who is based in each school throughout week, supported by an enthusiastic team.

Castleton and Glaisdale are founding members of a group of schools (West Cliff, Airy Hill, Lealholm, Castleton and Glaisdale), known as the Yorkshire Endeavour Academy Trust (YEAT), and we work closely to provide support and development opportunities to all staff.

Here at Castleton Primary, we are proud to take our wonderful children from Castleton and surrounding villages. In a small school such as ours, teamwork and excellent communication are vital, and we are looking for someone who is willing to pitch in with all aspects of school life to help us offer the very best experiences to our pupils
