What skills and experience we're looking for

Cape Cornwall School is looking to appoint a passionate and committed leader for ourKites ARBwho will lead and build on the excellent current provision and strategically develop Kites into the future. The role would suit those with a proven track record of working in SEND with experience of working with children with a range of additional needs; it would suit those working towards or aspiring towards a SENDCO qualification in the future.

Your key responsibilities will be:

- To be responsible for providing a rich learning experience and effective support for students, in accordance with the Trust and school’s SEND Policy and the SEND Code of Practice.

- To ensure that Educational Health & Care Plans meet the needs of the young people who attend the ARB.

- To have responsibility for leading a team of specialist teaching and support staff in the ARB and liaise with relevant staff, external agencies, parents and primary colleagues.

- To foster a strong sense of inclusion, including maintaining strong links between the ARB and the rest of the school.

- To ensure that the links between the ARB and wider agencies are effective and support the education and personal development of the young people who attend the ARB.

You will share our commitment to excellence, inclusion and aspiration for every student and will be determined to ensure the very best outcomes for children. You will also work in partnership with colleagues within Truro and Penwith Academy Trust Schools. We would be happy to arrange a visit to Kites in the first instance.
