Head of Business job summary
The Head of Business plays a vital leadership role at Orion Coopers, responsible for shaping and driving the strategic direction, quality, and impact of Business education across the school. This post combines high quality classroom practice with subject leadership, ensuring an ambitious, well-sequenced curriculum that enables all pupils to achieve strong outcomes and develop the knowledge and skills needed for future study and employment.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider leadership team, the Head of Business will lead and support a team of teachers, promote consistently high standards of teaching and learning, and use data intelligently to inform planning, intervention, and improvement. The role includes responsibility for curriculum design, assessment, professional development within the subject area, and effective resource and budget management.
As a visible and values driven leader, the postholder will contribute to whole-school development, building positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external partners. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Teacher who is passionate about curriculum innovation, and developing both pupils and colleagues within a supportive, coaching-focused school and Trust.
