Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of artists, designers, and culinary creators? Do you have a flair for creativity and a love for teaching? We are looking for a dedicated Head of Creative Art, Design Technology, Textiles, Food Technology and Photography to join our vibrant and dynamic educational community!

PolyMAT is a small and ambitious MAT with a unique family feel. Our vision is ‘Success for Everyone’ and the successful candidate will help deliver this for our schools. We currently have three schools in our Trust: Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys, a long-successful boys’ school, Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls that opened in 2019, and Bannockburn Primary School, a large successful primary that joined the Trust on 1st November 2023. We also have our flourishing Sixth Form provision which is co-educational.

Following the success of our first ever Ofsted inspection at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls, we are looking for dedicated teachers that will join us on our journey in delivering an outstanding education for all our students. At Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls, we believe that art, design, textiles, food technology and photography are vital parts of education that foster creativity, critical thinking, and personal expression. We are looking for a creative, passionate, innovative and outstanding Head of Creative Art, Design Technology, Textiles, Food and Photography to cover maternity leave. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, friendly and supportive team of Art specialists.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent pedagogical and subject specific knowledge
  • Confident practical skill across a variety of artistic media
  • The ability to deliver engaging, challenging lessons which foster creativity to build both knowledge and skills
  • Experience in teaching and assessing Art, Design Technology, Textiles, Food, Photography to at least KS4
  • The ability and willingness to draw upon the latest artistic resources, knowledge, news and pedagogy including a confident understanding of digital technology
  • An enthusiasm and willingness to collaborate and participate in building and refining an outstanding curriculum
  • A commitment to implement and run various extra-curricular opportunities for students such as clubs and trips.

If selected for interview, you will be expected to bring a portfolio of your work and work created by students you have taught to discuss. This portfolio can be digital or physical.
