What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a Head of Data & Insights to join our Central Services Team and become instrumental in supporting the Trust in its continuous growth.
This post will provide the Chief Executive Officer and wider leadership team with valuable data analysis and insight through the design and development of systems, processes and reports that support statutory reporting and the strategic decision-making needs of the organisation.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- A degree or equivalent
- Qualifications gained within own field of expertise
- Experience of creating a data strategy and using the most effective tools to deliver a high-quality service
- Experience of leading and developing data infrastructure within a growing organisation
- Experience of leading, growing and developing a team
- Able to demonstrate ability in Power BI, Tableau, Looker or equivalent
- Ability to interpret data and present it to meet the needs of the recipients, in a variety of formats
- Excellent stakeholder management, including the ability to present in both written and verbal form
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong management skills

- Proficient in Office 365 and other standard organisational systems
- Able to take responsibility for own professional development
- Self-led able to manage competing demands and meet deadline

Since 2014, when Maiden Erlegh Trust was established, we have expanded to become six schools serving Berkshire and South Oxfordshire covering the breadth of educational provision from EYFS to Post-16 in mainstream, special and alternative provision. We also have two new free schools : Oak Tree School which opened in September 2023 (a special school providing 150 places) and in the pre-opening phase River Academy opening in September 2024 (a secondary school in the heart of Reading providing 1,500 places).
Our schools are supported by the Central Services Team at Maiden Erlegh Trust who provide a range of business services and support our partner schools in carrying out their statutory responsibilities and core business functions.
