Head of Department (Foreign Languages) job summary

Emmanuel College are looking to recruit a Head of Foreign Languages who will enthuse pupils to learn with a combination of great subject knowledge, energy and dedication.

We have high expectations for our students as they grow and develop and all our staff provide important role models to them in terms of positive attitude, work ethic and diligence.

The successful candidate will:

  • lead an experienced team to move the department beyond outstanding
  • be able to teach either French or Spanish (ideally both) 
  • be enthusiastic with the ability to inspire both students and staff 
  • have experience of working strategically with data
  • be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and new ideas
  • have an awareness of current developments in languages with a lifelong commitment to learning
