What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, dynamic, innovative and committedHead of Technology and ICT.

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Head of Technology and ICT to lead a newly formed department. We currently have vacancies for both a Head of Department or a teacher to deliver first class teaching.

The subject specialisms we require are Design and Technology Teacher or Leader which could include engineering or graphic design or an ICT/Business Teacher or Leader with the knowledge to teach GCSE Business and Enterprise. The Axholme Academy is committed to providing our students with a broad curriculum throughout their learning journey and Technology subjects are central to this.

We teach an ambitious and rigorous curriculum with a clear focus on supporting all students to achieve positive outcomes and go ‘Beyond Expectations’. You will work with the staff within Technology, the Senior Leadership team, other Heads of Department and the wider Academy team to continually drive standards across the department.

The post is suitable for both experienced leaders and those for whom this would be their first leadership role. What is important to us is that we appoint someone who is totallycommitted to the post and can demonstrate the ability to consistently deliver quality leadership and first class Teaching and Learning across the 11-16 age range. We need someone who will work effectively and enthusiastically as our Head of Technology and with other colleagues to continue moving the department forward and raising the profile of

Technology throughout the Academy and beyond. The successful applicant will have the opportunity and autonomy to shape and deliver a Technology and ICT/Business curriculum that truly meets the needs of our students to take the department to the next level.
