Astrea Academy Woodfields is seeking an inspiring, experienced, and visionary Head of Design and Technology to lead our Design and Technology department and shape the future of the subject across the academy. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Design and Technology department, ensuring consistently high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Develop and implement a rich, engaging, and ambitious curriculum that inspires a love of Design and Technology.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data effectively to inform strategic decisions and targeted interventions.
- Support and develop teaching staff through coaching, mentoring, and professional growth opportunities.
- Contribute to whole-school leadership and improvement as a member of the extended leadership team.
- Foster a culture of high expectations, scholarship, creativity, and curiosity across the department.
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified teacher with a strong and successful track record in Design and Technology teaching and leadership.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a team.
- A commitment to inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
