We are looking for an inspirational and ambitious Head of Department who is passionate about delivering excellent educational experiences and improving outcomes for all students.
You will use your leadership skills to champion the success and life chances of all children in our trust. Through high expectations, effective use of assessment and progress data, and a commitment to an ambitious and inclusive curriculum, you will support both students and colleagues to achieve their very best.
As Head of Design Technology, you will lead a team of six colleagues across Design Technology, Food Technology, Photography and Art.
About you:
You will be:
a qualified teacher with a degree and QTS, with experience of teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 and the full ability range.
an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver consistently high-quality, engaging lessons.
able to lead curriculum development within your subject area, with a strong understanding of effective teaching, learning and assessment.
confident in using assessment and progress data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective interventions.
an inspiring and supportive leader who can motivate colleagues, develop the practice of others and contribute to a high-performing team.
an effective communicator who can build positive relationships with students, colleagues, families and the wider community.
committed to high expectations, inclusion, safeguarding and creating opportunities that enrich students' learning and improve their life chances.
