Head of Estates job summary
Acorn Education Trust is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and motivated Head of Estates to provide strategic and operational leadership of our diverse school estate. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced estates professional to join a forward-thinking Trust, shaping the physical environment that underpins high quality teaching and learning across our schools.
Contract: Permanent, full time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year).
Required: April 2026 (or sooner).
Location: Trust-wide, with travel across all our Acorn Education Trust sites in Wiltshire.
Other: Vehicle provided.
Acorn Education Trust was established in 2014 and now serves 23 settings: 17 primary schools, 4 secondary schools and 2 nurseries. We strive for excellent leadership, excellent teaching and excellent learning. Our vision is to transform lives through education.
The Head of Estates will be responsible for leading and developing a large estates and facilities team, managing multiple significant capital projects and ensuring the Trust’s estate is safe, compliant, sustainable and conducive to learning. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in team leadership, project management and compliance within a multi-site environment.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills, the ability to drive continuous improvement and a commitment to best practice in estate management, as set out in the Department for Education’s Estate Management Competency Framework and School Estate Management Standards.
