What skills and experience we're looking for

Lavington School is seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated Daytime Premises Cleaner. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.

In this role, you will work as part of a collaborative site team to deliver a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the school. You will take responsibility for keeping key areas such as toilets, dining spaces, outdoor areas and staff facilities clean, safe and well-presented throughout the day. Your duties will include responding promptly to spills and incidents, emptying bins, litter picking, replenishing consumables, and carrying out a range of internal and external cleaning tasks. During school closure periods, you will undertake deeper cleaning, support floor maintenance, and help prepare the site for the return of staff and students. You will be expected to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, following health and safety guidance and reporting any hazards or faults. Alongside your practical duties, you will contribute to a positive working environment by following school policies, supporting safeguarding responsibilities, and working effectively with colleagues. This role requires someone who is reliable, flexible and committed to maintaining high standards, with a willingness to learn and support the wider school community

Lavington School is a mixed comprehensive school and currently has 965 students on roll, aged 11 to 18. It is situated on the western edge of the village of Market Lavington, about six miles south of Devizes, in the heart of rural Wiltshire. Numbers on roll have grown over the years with the school being over-subscribed. In 2018 the school opened its Sixth Form as a satellite centre of Devizes School.
