The Role:

As our Lead Cook, you will play a pivotal role in managing the daily catering operations, ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen and delivering high-quality, healthy meals that meet the diverse needs of our school community. You will lead a small team of catering staff, overseeing all aspects of food preparation, service and hygiene. Your expertise will contribute to the development of menus that are not only delicious but also nutritionally balanced, adhering to the Food for Life Partnership Scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Take charge of the daily catering service, ensuring efficient and effective operations.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate catering staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to HACCP and COSHH regulations.

  • Health & Safety: Manage health and safety on a daily basis.
