Head of Governance & Compliance job summary
The Sir John Brunner Foundation seeks to appoint a Head of Governance and Compliance to join the central team, to oversee all aspects of governance effectiveness and compliance within the trust, ensure governance adheres to good practice and meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, and provide strategic leadership of services that support governance across the trust.
The postholder will be responsible for leading our governance services, advising on issues relating to governance of MATs, developing governance and leading on compliance.
This is an exciting time to be joining our Multi Academy Trust, of three High Schools and a Sixth Form College, which collectively educates over 4300 children, and employs over 450 professionals.
Each academy within the Foundation operates at the heart of its local community. The Foundation’s offices are based at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College which is a modern purpose-built campus set in beautiful grounds. The other Academies, The County High School, Leftwich; Middlewich High School and The Macclesfield Academy are all based within Cheshire.
To be successful in post you will be degree educated and will hold a governance related qualification. You will have experience of clerking and/or providing secretarial services to committees and/or boards, leading a service across a multi-site organisation and managing compliance. You should also have an excellent understanding of the education sector (preferably 11-16 or sixth form), with a strong grasp of current and emerging educational issues.
