Head of History job summary
Seahaven Academy is a very proud community, with really big ambitions and incredibly high expectations for all our students. We whole-heartedly believe in our United Learning motto: ‘the best in everyone’.
Our recent inspection confirmed we are a ‘good’ school in all areas with a track record of strong outcomes for our students. We are unapologetically ambitious for every child, no matter what their background, prior attainment or needs. We provide all our young people with the challenge and support they need to achieve their goals to enable them to lead happy and fulfilling lives. We strongly believe in ‘Education with Character’ and want our young people to look back on their time at Seahaven as an education which has inspired and rewarded them and prepared them for the ups and downs of life.
The strength of relationships between students and staff is second to none, and we know that we can make a real difference to our students’ lives. Add to this a vibrant atmosphere, a stunning cliff-top location and excellent facilities and it is easy to see why we feel so passionately about our academy and the work we do at Seahaven.
Visits to the school are welcomed. Please contact HR at hr1@seahavenacademy.org.uk for an appointment.
The Role:
Are you an aspirational teacher looking for your first step into leadership? For April/September 2023, we are looking to appoint a passionate and inspirational Head of History to continue the department’s work to ensure our students have the best possible outcomes. Whilst History will be the main teaching subject, the ability to contribute to either Religious Studies or Geography would be advantageous.
Our staff are committed to honing their skills through coaching, Teaching and Learning communities and using evidence-based approaches to create expert lessons. We are currently using the Rosenshine principles and Teach Like A Champion to underpin our professional development.
