Lytchett Minster School is looking for highly motivated teachers who are passionate about teaching and who will relish the prospect of making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced, knowledgeable and skilled specialist History teacher eager to develop their career in an exceptionally well-equipped department within an outstanding and attractive school to lead a team of specialist historians. This is a full-time role. As an ambitious colleague wishing to progress your career, this vibrant and successful school can help you to develop and flourish.TLR 1.1 will be considered for a candidate with the requisite experience to take on the role of Head of Humanities Faculty (including being Head of History).

We are looking to recruit someone who is passionate about teaching History and who will lead an established department in developing further. Applicants need to be well qualified, have a wide knowledge of, and real enthusiasm for, the subject and will be fully involved in all matters of the curriculum and resource development within the faculty. The ability to teach A-Level Government and Politics is essential. They will lead and coach other colleagues and be responsible for their appraisals.

Set in a semi-rural location with an 18th Century family Manor House at its heart, Lytchett has one of the most beautiful and inspirational learning environments in the county with stunning extensive grounds and a number of modern extensions. The school is massively over-subscribed and highly regarded in the community. Parents know that Lytchett looks after its students, providing them with outstanding pastoral care and high-quality teaching. The school has a successful, thriving sixth form with over 340 students.

Lytchett has not joined a multi-academy trust, and has no intention of doing so, because it values its independence as a secondary school which serves its local community and produces outstanding outcomes for its students.

The History Department is welcoming and will ensure that the successful candidate receives appropriate induction, training and support. We pride ourselves on our strong induction systems which new colleagues always value highly. We also have well developed performance management systems, and a range of professional development opportunities are available such as leadership training and twilight inset sessions.
