South Pennine Academies is a cross-phase Trust of 10 primary and secondary schools, alongside a school-based Initial Teacher Training provider, Huddersfield Horizon SCITT.
The Trust’s vision is clear: to achieve an excellent education for everyone. This is brought to life through the values of Integrity, Ambition and Inclusion. Success is about more than academic outcomes; it is also about belonging, aspiration and opportunity for all.
HR at South Pennine Academies is about the people who teach, care for and support students across the communities the Trust serves. It is about making sure those people are recruited well, led well and want to stay.
The OpportunitySouth Pennine Academies is appointing a Head of HR to lead the Trust’s HR team, reporting to the Operations Director. This is a new post, created following a change to the Trust’s central leadership structure.
This is a role for an HR leader who wants to see the effect of their work in schools: in the quality of the people schools appoint and in whether those people choose to build their careers with the Trust.
The Trust is looking for someone who can give Headteachers and school leaders clear, practical advice they can act on, and who understands that HR decisions in schools eventually reach the classroom.
Safer recruitment, compliance and consistent practice are fundamental. The opportunity is to build on sound foundations and develop an HR service that schools find responsive, well organised and easy to work with.
