We are seeking to appoint a Head of Inclusion/SENCO to join our highly successful, warm, welcoming and inclusive school. You will oversee the school’s provision for all students with learning difficulties and disabilities, and those with medical needs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and supporting the overall academic progress and personal development of students with learning difficulties and disabilities, and those with medical needs.
  • Leading, developing, and enhancing the practice of others in relation to students with learning difficulties and disabilities, and those with medical needs to ensure improved standards of teaching are consistent and accessible for all learners.
  • Work closely with parents, external agencies, and the wider community to ensure that our SEN students receive the appropriate support they need.
  • Line management of the Learning Support Assistants.

You will also be a qualified teacher with excellent subject knowledge and strong teaching skills, someone who is able to build positive relationships with staff and all learners and be committed to raising the attainment of your students.

Ideally, you will have The National Award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete it if not yet held), have experience of leading a SEND provision and have an understanding of current SEND legislation and guidance. We also welcome applications from those aspiring to become a Head of Inclusion/SENCO, from candidates of all faiths or none.
