Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

Purpose of the role (see the JD for further details accountabilities):
The postholder will work as a member of Clevedon School Student Support Department which supports students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access, achieve and enjoy education and school life.
Your main responsibility is to manage the inclusion curriculum for students with SEND by working in partnership with the student, their parents, school staff and other professionals.
You will manage the provision for these students, ensuring a balanced curriculum, coordinating provision and raising aspirations to ensure successful outcomes.
Working closely with the SENDCO you will monitor progress and explore barriers and implement early intervention when appropriate.
Creating costed provision maps to secure additional funding for SEND students, working alongside the SENCO.
Supporting staff to complete robust support plans and ensuring interventions tracking is consistent and has impact.
What You’ll Bring to Futura:
We are looking for a motivated and supportive Inclusion Assistant to work with SEN children who will:
Be student focused and gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of identified students in order to suggest appropriate provision and facilitate delivery of agreed outcomes. To manage bespoke timetable and curriculum experiences for all students in the group.
Develop sessions on life skills and interpersonal skills and deliver these.
Have a sound Level of Secondary Education
Have evidence of relevant professional development and qualifications e.g. Teaching Assistant Qualification
Have experience of supporting children/young people in a work place or voluntary capacity
Be an advocate for identified students to ensure the ‘Voice of the Child’ is heard and informs all planning and practice
Operate with integrity
Have energy and enthusiasm with a flexible approach to work
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Foster a positive relationship with the child’s family, communicating regularly
Be a champion for the child
Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
