Head of Key Stage 3 job summary
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, talented and dynamic Class Teacher Lead. As well as being an excellent practitioner for KS3 STEAM subject areas, we are looking for someone with a brilliant track record of improvement as well as being a strong classroom practitioner.
● Manage and Develop Transition procedures from Year 6 into 7
● Support marketing strategies promoting Year 7 option at UTC Plymouth
● Lead and manage the Year 7 and 8 mentors to achieve UTC’s aims and mission.
● Promote and maintain good communications within the Key Stage, college and with appropriate external agencies
● Work alongside the KS4 and 5 Pastoral Lead in order to ensure consistency of standards
● Ensure mentors maintain accurate and full records on student progress
● Ensure policies and procedures are followed by mentors and students
● Monitor, assess and develop the roles of mentors
● Liaise effectively with parents
● Have oversight of KS3 curriculum decisions, alongside Vice Principal (Curriculum)
● Report regularly and effectively to SLT on progress of KS3 students
● Deliver an effective pastoral programme
● Have oversight of extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities for KS3 liaising with those with responsibility in these areas
