The Head of Maths role is based at Middlewich High School where we believe that every child deserves to attend an excellent school, one that enables all students to flourish and be happy. About the Role
In addition to the job description of classroom teacher, the head of department will complete the following key duties.
- Leadership of the subject area
- Student progress beyond assigned groups
- Enhancing the teaching of others
- Line managing a significant number of staff
- Effective planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum ensuring quality first teaching across all classes.
- Specific responsibility for the organisation of all matters including curriculum, assessment, reporting and monitoring relating to Key Stage 3 and 4.

What we are looking for
- PGCE/QTS and evidence of continuing professional development
- GCSE at Grade c (Grade 4) and above in English and Maths
- Honours Degree
- A proven track record of outstanding results in Maths
- Experience of teaching GCSE Maths
- Experience of leading and effectively managing staff
