We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Maths to join our close-knit team. The successful candidate will lead, manage and develop the department, maximising student achievement and progress through a rigorous curriculum based on the science of learning. You will join a Maths department which consists of a team of subject specialists including experienced as well as early career and trainee teachers.
As a department we are well resourced with curriculum in place for every year group and work together to continually review, adapt and improve this. We have a dedicated area of the academy for maths, equipped with ViewSonic boards and three suites of laptops/chrome books available for student use. We have an online shared area for teachers to use for their planning, where resources and lessons are regularly shared and use Google Classroom to communicate with students, set homework, and provide revision materials. Our students are also supported with their maths learning through use of Sparx Maths.
We take pride in providing regular opportunities for extracurricular enrichment, including maths competitions, celebrating Pi day and meeting with professionals who studied maths and use it in their roles now.
