Head of Maths (TLR 1.2) job summary

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, ambitious, and highly effective Maths Subject Leader from January 2027. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and high expectations. This is a highly successful school with an exceptionally low staff turnover. This role is a unique opportunity for an experienced/ambitious teacher seeking a new and rewarding challenge.

Wolgarston is recognised as a very successful school locally, last year we were one of the top schools in of Staffordshire with an average A level grade of a B and A* in Further Maths. Maths and Further Maths are very successful courses. At Key Stage 4 are attainment 8 score was 4.8 which was above the national average. 78% of our students achieved a grade 4+ in Maths, 57% of our students achieved a grade 5+ and 20% of the cohort achieving a grade 7+.
