Head of MFL
Required Easter 2024
MPS / UPS £30,000 - £46,525 (+ TLR2b £5,348)
Kinver High School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Head of MFL to join our ‘warm and welcoming school’ where ‘pupils behave well in lessons’ and ‘are polite and courteous’ (Ofsted Dec 21).
The ideal candidate will share our student-centered values and be an engaging and proactive teacher with a passion for lifelong learning. You must firmly believe and be driven to ensure that every student regardless of starting point, can achieve success, enjoy school, and be engaged with wider school life, to become the best that they can be.
The candidate should ideally be a Spanish main specialist and an outstanding classroom practitioner with either the ability and experience to teach through to A-Level, or the desire to one day do so. Kinver High School achieves above national outcomes at KS4 and has an ALPs score of a 2. The successful candidate will build on current developments within the school, Trust and nationally, to continue to improve outcomes and raise aspirations for all students.
Currently, all students study Spanish at KS3 and we offer French and Italian currently during enrichment. At KS4 we currently have both French and Spanish taught and expect to offer A-Level Spanish next September. MFL is a popular subject, valued by students and their parents. Uptake at GCSE is strong and growing. The department is well resourced. The ability to offer an additional language at either KS3 or to GCSE would be an advantage.
We are a highly successful and increasingly popular oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school of 670 students, situated in the picturesque village location of Kinver on the western fringe of the West Midlands. The school has undergone rapid growth in recent years due to its popularity, moving form a 4-form entry in Year 7 to6-form entry. The school operates it’s own designated school coach transport service, which means that our intake spans 5 local authorities and our parents and students choose to come to us, making Kinver the non-selective ‘selective’ school.
We are sure that once you visit us and meet our students, you’ll find that we are the school for you and your career journey, our CPD through school and in partnership with Invictus is exemplary.
We would strongly encourage you to get in touch and arrange a visit. We want the very best teachers for our students and look forward finding out if you are that person.
Please contact the Headteacher’s Personal Assistant, Mrs L Chamberlain atlchamberlain@invictus.educationto arrange a visit or request further details.
Closing Date: Monday 19th February 2024, 9am
