HEAD OF MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES
required for Easter or September 2020
MPS/UPS + TLR 1b + LFA
A rare opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to lead an important department in a school offering excellence within the state sector. In September 2018 the school became a Hub of Excellence in MFL Pedagogy, a new government initiative to raise standards and interest in languages, working as one of nine lead schools in the country.
This post offers exceptional opportunities to an outstanding teacher seeking additional responsibilities or an experienced Head of MFL looking for significant amounts of Sixth Form MFL teaching in a school with an international reputation for MFL. As this is a re-advertisement, previous candidates will be considered on request.
Dartford Grammar School is one of the highest performing schools nationally at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, with excellent facilities designated as ’outstandingly successful’ in successive national and international inspections. The ability to teach one MFL up to KS5 is essential. Teaching another subject up to KS4 and a willingness to be an active participant in the extra-curricular life of the school would be an advantage.
We are keen to hear from you if you are:
• an excellent classroom practitioner
• committed to raising achievement and transforming learning
• well-organised, conscientious and able to work effectively as part of a team
We should like to extend an opportunity for you to meet with a senior member of staff, Mr Geary (Assistant Headteacher) or Mr Williams (Director of MFL Hub). Please use the contact details below to arrange this confidential meeting.
For further details and an application pack please contact the school (telephone: 01322 223039; fax: 01322 291426; e-mail: adennett@dartfordgrammarschool.org.uk)
Please return a completed application form, to the Headmaster, Mr W J Oakes, Dartford Grammar School, West Hill, Dartford, Kent DA1 2HW.
Closing date: Monday 3rd February 2020
