Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the delivery of Modern Foreign Languages at this outstanding school, as the governors seek to appoint an aspirational and enthusiastic curriculum leader. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a small but expanding team and use their expertise and skills to develop the department further.

Essential educational requirements

Ability to teach French and German or Spanish to KS3 and KS4

Essential qualifications

Qualified teacher Status

Essential skills and experience

To have a proven track record of achieving outstanding outcomes for students.
To be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to make lessons active, lively and focussed on pupil needs
An interest in developing schemes of work, teaching sequences and relevant resources
Successful involvement in departmental initiatives.
To be ICT literate, making appropriate use of IT as a teaching and management tool.
To have knowledge of, and confidence in, the use of pupil performance data
Understanding of strategies to raise achievement across Key Stages
To have experience of successful interventions to raise achievement
Willingness to participate in extra curriculum activities within MFL, including participation/organisation of Language trips.
Abiilty to work with other adults including outside agencies.
Have an understanding of leading, managing and motivating staff
To display enthusiasm and an ambitious vision for MFL education
