Head of Operations and Estates job summary

The Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust is a vibrant and dynamic organisation that comprises 28 primary schools across Wiltshire and Dorset, with the potential to grow further.

We are looking to recruit an exceptional Head of Estates and Operations, to deliver on the Trust's Estates and Sustainability Strategies. The successful candidate will lead the strategic and operational management of the Trust’s estate, ensuring all school sites are safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards. The role includes responsibility for health and safety, capital and other infrastructure-related projects, facilities management, sustainability, and emergency planning.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Take a lead in the design and delivery of our Estates and Sustainability Strategy
  • Develop and improve the Trust estates and support site staff teams, ensuring effective and efficient management of the school sites and grounds
  • Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety (legislation and implementation) are reflected in the highest of standards, ensuring all schools in the Trust are safe and legally compliant
  • Ensure a high level of performance from all school contracts
  • Deliver our annual capital programme in excess of £800,000 per annum
  • Project manage, and/or work closely with external surveyors and project managers, on school refurbishment and building improvement works
  • Travel independently to all the schools currently within our Trust, as well as any new schools who may join us in the future. You must also be able to commute to the Trust office in Wilton.
