Head of PE job summary

St Claudine’s Catholic School for Girls is a highly-successful Catholic girls’ comprehensive school (ages 11-18) in the northwest London Borough of Brent. Our school is a vibrant, happy and inclusive community with staff and students from across the world.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and qualified teacher of PE to take on the lead role as Head of the PE department. PE is taught as a core subject to classes in Year 7 through to Year 11, and sports and fitness is offered as a 6th from enrichment activity. The school has two gyms, an outdoor MUGA and a recently refurbished and equipped fitness suite. There is scope to further develop and build sports across the school and to introduce PE at GCSE and, in time, at A level. This is a very exciting time to join this happy, successful and thriving school community.

Learning at St Claudine’s is rooted in the Gospel values in a warm, supportive and nurturing community. Even though we are a Catholic School, it is not a requirement to be Catholic and our international community welcomes staff and students of all faiths and none. Behaviour at the school is outstanding and students are educated via a rich and diverse, holistic curriculum to become confident, articulate and independent young people.

We are seeking a dynamic, hardworking, flexible team player with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our busy school. Applicants for the role must have energy, enthusiasm and pride in a meticulous approach to work.

Although we are a Catholic school, it is not a requirement for candidates to be catholic. Our multicultural and multi-faith school welcomes applicants of all faiths and no faith.
