We are looking to
appoint a motivated and inspirational Head of PE to join our team of
outstanding staff in this core curriculum area.
St Thomas the Apostle school is a 11-18 Catholic boys’ school with a co-educational Sixth Form in South London. We are an outstanding school and 2017 TES Secondary School of the Year winners. We are looking for an excellent leader – a skilled teacher both in and outside the classroom. A teacher who is passionate about their subject, someone who will ensure a wide and well attended programme of extra-curricular opportunities for all our students and a true team player who will lead our team of highly skilled staff delivering outstanding lessons to our exceptional students.
We are fortunate to benefit from high quality facilities on site. These include a new 9 a-side 3G pitch, a full size sports hall, weights room and swimming pool. The department have an outstanding reputation for sport across London. In recent years St Thomas the Apostle have made more County Cup finals than any other school across the age range in football, and also reached a National Cup Semi-final in Basketball. It is the expectation that you will contribute to the thriving extra-curricular programme and specialising in either football or basketball would be advantageous.
We offer a number of courses including GCSE PE and Sport Studies at Key Stage 4, and A Level PE and BTEC Sport at Key Stage 5.
