Head of Performing Arts job summary
Whilst an Easter start is preferable we would also consider candidates who are available to start in September.
The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated, well-qualified and enthusiastic Head of Performing Arts to lead the Dance, Drama and Music departments; all of which are well established at GCSE and A level/BTEC. You will be required to lead a small team in the successful planning and delivery of these qualifications enabling all pupils to achieve. As part of your role you will be responsible for the monitoring of pupil progress and the promotion of the department to pupils choosing options at GCSE and A level. Enthusiasm and engagement in the wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, currently on offer, is growing in the Performing Arts at Trinity. Your enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility will be paramount therefore, to the continued success and engagement of both staff and pupils.
What you will need to succeed:
Candidates must have a passion for the Performing Arts and a desire to educate pupils of all abilities. A successful candidate would ideally be a Music specialist equipped with the knowledge and skills required to deliver both the GCSE and A Level/BTEC courses and able to radiate creativity and enthusiasm in the classroom. Pedagogy in Dance and Drama would be preferable, but not essential. You will have high expectations of yourself, and the pupils, and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to working with other members of staff. You will be committed to improving the learning outcomes for all pupils in the school.
