  • The Role

    Watling Academy is seeking a committed, knowledgeable and forward‑thinking Head of Physics to join our Science department. Working with the Head of Science, you will play a central role in strengthening the quality, visibility and ambition of Physics at Watling Academy.

    As Head of Physics, you will:

    • Lead the development of an exceptional Physics curriculum, ensuring it is coherent, challenging and inspiring from KS3 through to KS5.
    • Champion high‑quality teaching, modelling excellent practice and supporting colleagues to continually improve pedagogy and outcomes in Physics.
    • Drive engagement and curiosity, designing practical, hands‑on learning that brings abstract concepts to life and deepens scientific understanding.
    • Support student progress and aspiration, fostering resilience, critical thinking and a love of learning in all pupils.
    • Collaborate closely with the Head of Science and the wider Science team to ensure a cohesive, enriching and dynamic Science curriculum for every learner.
