Sir John Deane’s is the country’s leading sixth form college, and we are looking to appoint a full-time Head of Department (Psychology & Media) to start in September 2025.

The Department
The department offers both A level Psychology (OCR) and A level Media studies (Eduqas). With a strong identity and a culture of continuous improvement, colleagues are committed to drive student success. The department comprises of 7 teachers and a media technician who are enthusiastic, motivated, and supportive.

Located in a state of the art brand new building with excellent facilities opened in December 2024
The Post
This post is an ideal opportunity for a successful and ambitious individual looking to develop their leadership experience.
A Level experience is not an essential requirement; we are seeking to appoint an individual with a strong academic background in Psychology who loves to teach, who has a passion for all aspects of the subject and who can demonstrate the ability to lead.
The person appointed must be willing to:
- bring imaginative and varied approaches to their teaching;
- work as a member of a team, sharing ideas and resources;
- develop relationships with students based upon equality, respect, joy and high aspirations
