Head of RE and SMSC job summary
As a new school within a highly aspirational and academically successful multi-academy Trust, Ada Lovelace CE High School offers comprehensive CPD, exciting development opportunities and good promotion prospects for its teachers. The school, now in its second year, is currently co-located at William Perkin CE High School (Ofsted ‘Outstanding’), and moves to its brand new permanent site in north Ealing in September 2020.
This is an exciting role for an innovative teacher who is ready to take on departmental leadership as we prepare our students for GCSE and beyond (the school’s first GCSEs will be in 2023). As the new Head of RE and SMSC you will be responsible for building the department in terms of curriculum planning and progress monitoring within the framework of the existing Trust curriculum model. You will ensure that the quality of teaching and learning in the department is consistently high and will contribute to the development of a culture of sharing good practice. Additionally, you will manage the delivery of the pastoral curriculum and orchestration of the wider SMSC offer, including the planning and delivery of whole school SMSC / Chaplaincy events, and training and support of SLT and Heads of Year in leading the pastoral curriculum. You will also take the lead in the preparation for the SIAMS inspection. Applications are welcomed from exceptional candidates with strong experience. For applicants with experience over fewer key stages, aspects of the role and remuneration may be adjusted accordingly.
