What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors are seeking to appoint a practising Catholic who is a dynamic and inspirational Head of RE who will lead an ‘outstanding’ RE Department (Section 48 inspection March 2022).

We welcome applications from candidates currently in similar roles or aspiring middle leaders. The successful candidates will benefit from the support and line management of an Assistant Headteacher with previous RE Department leadership and a successful track record.

This is an exciting time for Cardinal Newman as we prepare for the development of a brand new school opening in January 2026.

The school has an excellent reputation, built on strong and longstanding relationships with the local community and beyond. We are a Beacon Peace School and achieved outstanding in all categories in the Section 48 Inspection report. Comments include:
