Head of Religious Studies job summary

We wish to appoint an experienced teacher to lead and manage the Religious Studies subject area within the Humanities Faculty from September 2022. This post is offered on a fixed term contract to cover the substantive post holder’s maternity leave. The successful candidate will be a committed and experienced teacher, who is a highly effective classroom practitioner, and has management aspirations within the subject area. Religious Studies is very well taught at Prendergast School and is a popular subject choice amongst our students. The successful candidate will be joining a very strong team of teachers who enjoy working together to develop a love of learning in our students. Prendergast School is an Outstanding 11-16 Girls School with a mixed 6th Form and benefits from being part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools. Awarded its third Outstanding OFSTED grading in a row in November 2013, the school has been leading girls’ education in Lewisham for over 130 years.
