Are you an ambitious and inspiring science leader ready to make a real impact? E-ACT Bristol Academy South is seeking an exceptional Head of Science to lead, develop and grow our Science Department. You will drive outstanding teaching and learning, raise achievement across all key stages, and inspire both students and staff to achieve their very best.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction of science, lead curriculum development, champion innovative teaching approaches and build a culture of high expectations and excellence. Working closely with senior leaders, you will play a pivotal role in raising attainment and ensuring every student develops the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed.
We are looking for a qualified teacher with strong subject knowledge, proven leadership experience and a track record of improving outcomes for young people. You will be passionate about developing others, committed to continuous improvement and fully aligned with E-ACT's values of Thinking Big, Doing the Right Thing and Showing Team Spirit.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and develop the Science department, driving high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Monitor student progress and attainment, implementing effective strategies to raise achievement and outcomes.
- Develop, implement and review an engaging and ambitious Science curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
- Coach, mentor and support Science staff through professional development, performance management and CPD opportunities.
- Lead innovative teaching practices and contribute to whole-school improvement, working closely with senior leaders to drive excellence
Pay range: MPS1 - UPS3 - £34,069.00 - £52,835.00 + TLR2B - £6,281.00
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.
- Degree in Science or a related subject.
- Proven successful leadership experience within a school setting.
- Ability to lead and develop a team to achieve outstanding student outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, assessment and strategies to raise attainment
