Head of Science job summary

We are seeking a talented and inspirational Head of Science to lead our Science Department, someone who is dedicated to shaping a curriculum to further our students’ lifelong journey of curiosity, ensuring we combine theoretical and practical learning, so that all our students understand the significance of Science at every stage of their lives.

As Head of Science, you will lead an experienced team of qualified scientists and technicians and further raise standards and outcomes for our students.

We would be delighted to take you on a tour of the school and give you the opportunity to meet the department and answer any questions you may have prior to interview.

As Head of Science, you will:

  • Progress the Science department to even greater successes
  • Promote the understanding and belief that every student can be successful
  • Oversee and shape the curriculum’s delivery
  • Lead and mentor your team, enhancing their teaching practiceManage the allocation of resources and budgets
  • Collaborate with other heads of departments to achieve a consistent and integrated methodology
  • Be committed to the wider school community and development of students
