Head of Science job summary
We offer all three science disciplines at sixth form – so this role would involve leadership of all science and the opportunity to teach in the sixth form.
As a member of the Wider Leadership Team you would lead the development of the Science curriculum, including Key Stage 3, and relevant GCSE, A Level and vocational exam courses.
Undertaking and completing subject performance data analysis and using Academy prior attainment data to monitor, evaluate and review the effectiveness of learning outcomes and the curriculum. Responsibility also for target setting, tracking, and monitoring student progress and achievement in Science.
You would deliver INSET and professional coaching when appropriate to support the development of Science.
Identifying students at risk of underachieving in Science and in need of additional support and implementing effective intervention strategies where required at subject, group or individual student level.
