Queen Elizabeth’s Academy is seeking to appoint an inspirational Head of Science to lead our highly committed, experienced, and hard-working faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to further develop and manage the delivery of science across the academy, ensuring high levels of student progress and attainment.
At Queen Elizabeth’s Academy, we are fully committed to science education; all students study Triple Science at GCSE, reflecting our ambition for breadth, depth, and academic excellence in the subject.
This post is suitable for an experienced teacher with proven leadership or management experience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across the full age and ability range and demonstrate a strong track record of success across key stages. As Head of Science, you will lead and develop a team of dedicated colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring the highest quality of teaching and learning, as well as enriching wider opportunities for our students.
Our science faculty is well resourced, with suites of modern laboratories, preparation rooms, and specialist technicians. We are looking for a candidate who will bring energy, passion, and enthusiasm for science, inspiring and engaging our students while continuing to raise standards.

Queen Elizabeth's Academy is a growing secondary school for students aged 11-18 years based in Mansfield with over 900 students.
