Head of Science job summary
Reepham High School & College is an 11-18 comprehensive school, 12 miles north of Norwich. It has approximately 1100 students in total, including 240 students in the sixth form, known as ‘Reepham College’. The school serves a very wide catchment area of nearly 400 square kilometres and 85% of our young people travel by bus.
The school is a true comprehensive school with pupils of all abilities and backgrounds. The intake of the school is broadly in line with the national average in terms of prior attainment. We are currently working to improve our GCSE results, although performance at A Level is consistently in the top 10% nationally for progress made.
We are seeking a Head of Science to join us from September for a new chapter in Reepham High School and College history, following an extensive restructure.
The successful candidate will join a supportive school community that has an ambition to improve the educational outcomes and school experience for all our students and a department that will be fully behind them. As a school we value subject knowledge and have fully embraced a Rosenshine approach to teaching and learning. We hold high expectations of our students in both their conduct and what they can achieve and value strong working relationships between teachers and students.
Reepham enjoys good quality bespoke Science classrooms and healthy numbers in all the Sciences at A-level.
The successful candidate will have excellent subject and pedagogical knowledge as well as strong interpersonal skills and most importantly be a team player. Ideally, they would also be able to demonstrate some existing curriculum leadership as they will be leading a large team of teachers and technicians.
This is a very exciting time to join Reepham, where there is the opportunity to shape both the department and school for the years ahead.
